System Overview
TUNNELCORE uses a modified Cortex Prime dice system. No d20s. No hit points. You build dice pools from your Attributes (what you are) and Approaches (how you act), then roll against opposition. Stress accumulates across three tracks. Trauma is permanent. Death is final.
Dice Pools
How Cortex Prime opposed rolls work. Attribute + Approach + modifiers vs. opposition Javelin. Keep highest 2, compare totals. Effect die determines severity.
Stress & Trauma
Three stress tracks (Physical, Mental, Signal) escalate from d6 to d12. Overflow triggers trauma — permanent Distinction replacement. Three traumas = permadeath.
Archetypes
Disconnected, Sovereign, and Integrated. Your relationship with the mesh determines chrome ceiling, attribute weakness, approach bias, and starting gear.
Chrome & Cyberware
Four tiers of augmentation gated by archetype. T1 for everyone, T2 for Sovereign+, T3 for Integrated only. Substrate-Hybrid at the endgame.
