DRAINAGE NEXUS
The Parish — community in drainage tunnels. Water, rust, survival, mutual aid.
“Water drips from a pipe overhead, counting seconds. The fungus glows. Someone is cooking.”
OVERVIEW
A vertical shaft cut into storm drainage. Rusted ladder rungs descend into green-tinged darkness. Running water rises from below, amplified by concrete walls slick with condensation. Bioluminescent fungus clings to pipe joints and casts everything in pale chartreuse. This is the starting point for new arrivals — The Parish, a community that formed in the spaces the city forgot about. They share resources here. They share food. They share medical care that isn't rationed by credit score. The Parish doesn't have much, but what it has, it tends.
